Fire breaks out, a four-storeyed building collapses in Delhi

After the Bengaluru building collapse incident, a major fire is being blamed for collapse of a four-storey building in West Delhi’s Mansarovar Garden.

The whole complex is said to have collapsed. While the Delhi fire brigade services pressed in 30 fire tenders in its effort to control the blaze, goods in the shops of the building were gutted although none was reported injured in the fire.

It was during the dousing of the fire that the whole building weakened by the heat and eventually collapsed.

It took the firefighters over two hours to bring the fire under control. Police said that the cause of the fire was under investigation, but the possibility of a short circuit could not be ruled out.
