Fire breaks out in New York Trump Tower; firefighters injured in blaze control

The famous New York landmark Trump Tower, caught fire on Saturday where in an elderly man died late on that very day.

The building, which is owned by US President Donald Trump, serves as the headquarters for The Trump Organization.

This even as the firefighters were injured after a blaze erupted on the 50th floor of Trump Tower in New York.

New York Police Department confirmed that one Todd Brassner, in his sixties, was found unconscious and unresponsive when officers arrived at the scene.

Brassner is said to be an art dealer and was later pronounced dead.

He was taken to the Mount Sinai Roosevelt Hospital, as per police.

Police sources confirmed that the rescue had been difficult because of the fact that the quite a part of building had a considerable amount of smoke.

As many as four firefighters also sustained non-life threatening injuries but the blaze had been brought under control

.

It is said that the smoke began emanating from the skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan around 6:00 pm.

US President Donald Trump himself said the blaze had been extinguished.
