Even as summer has not yet arrived fully, a massive fire broke out in Bandipur Tiger Reserve and National Park in Karnataka’s Chamarajanagar district.
It is learnt that the blaze began since Saturday night itself.
Sources claimed that hundreds of acres of forest land have been destroyed in the blaze.
The fire raged on as a large part of the land and also spread to the core area endangering the lives of many wildlife species including other flora and fauna.
The wildfire intensified due to strong winds and as a result, rescue operations by foresters, firemen, wildlife volunteers and villagers took a beating as they continue to bring the fire under control, it was told.
