Five people were beaten up on suspicion of carrying cow meat

Despite Supreme Court taking note of violence in the name of cows, yet another case has emerged in BJP ruled Haryana.

Five people carrying meat were beaten up by an unruly mob because they suspected the meat to be of cow.

The incident took place in Faridabad city of Haryana. Police has registered a case under cow smuggling act and another may be filed by the victims.

However, the lab reports confirm that the meat seized from the victims is that of a buffalo’s.

In 2016, Haryana government had entrusted IPS officer Bharti Arora to check cow smuggling and slaughter in the state and launched a 24-hour helpline number — 8284030455 — to report such incidents.
