Former Cricketer Yashpal Sharma today passed away. He died due cardiac arrest. Yashpal Sharma, who was a member of the 1983 World Cup-winning team, breathed his last in New Delhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the demise of renowned cricketer Yashpal Sharma. In a tweet, Mr. Modi said, Yashpal Sharma Ji was a much beloved member of the Indian cricket team, including the legendary 1983 squad.

He said, Yashpal Sharma was an inspiration for teammates, fans as well as budding cricketers. The Prime Minister paid condolences to family and admirers of Yashpal Sharma.

Information and Broadcasting and Sports Minister, Anurag Thakur has expressed grief over the passing away of ace Cricketer and 1983 World Cup winning member Yashpal Sharma. He said, Yashpal Sharma’s contribution will not be forgotten.

The Minister said, he had an illustrious career and was India’s second highest run getter at the 1983 World Cup.
