Former Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh passes away

87 year old Veerbhdra Singh is the longest-serving chief minister of Himachal Pradesh.

Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Virbhadra Singh passed away today after prolonged illness.

Virbhadra Singh died at the Indira Gandhi medical college Shimla in wee hours today due to multi-organ failure. 87 year old Veerbhdra Singh is the longest-serving chief minister of Himachal Pradesh.

The 87 year-old veteran Congress leader was currently the MLA from Arki in Solan district.Nine-time MLA and five-time MP, Singh was Himachal Pradesh’s chief minister for six terms.

It may be recalled that earlier Virbhadra had been admitted to Max Hospital at Mohali after he tested positive for Covid on April 12.

After recovering and being discharged from the hospital, his health again deteriorated and he was being treated at IGMC Shimla, where he breathed his last.
