Panchori village in Dumra police limits of Sitamarhi district in Bihar woke up to a horrendous crime on Monday morning. Four people of a family were found shot at by unknown assailants.
To make sure that none survived, their throats were slit using sharp weapons. The murder is said to have taken place at about 2am. It has sent a shockwave throughout the village.
According to reports, Police have identified the dead members of the family as Ramvilas Sah, his wife sunita Devi, sons Rahul Kumar and Naval Sah. Three young people have been arrested in this matter. They are said to be stepsons of the deceased Ramvilas Sah. The murderous act is said to be rooted in a landed property dispute.
Dumra Superintendent of Police Vikas Burman, while informing pressmen of the incident, told that Ramvilas had entered into two marital relationships. He had left his first wife alone to live with his second wife.
He had three sons from the first and two sons from the second marriage. The two families had been embroiled in a land dispute for quite some time.
Police suspects that this dispute led to the wiping out of an entire family. The three arrested suspects have been identified by the names of Bittu Kumar, Rohit Kumar and Pappu Kumar.
Police have sent the dead bodies for a detailed post-mortem procedure.>
