It is not good law and order for the Jammu and Kashmir as is evident from the fact that bodies of three policemen with multiple bullet wounds were found hours after they were kidnapped by terrorists.
Local sources said that the terrorists barged into their homes in south Kashmir early on Friday.
In a fortunate incident, it was the fourth policeman who was freed as the villagers intervened timely.
It is said that the all of the policemen who were martyred were Special Police Officers and were dragged out of their homes in Kapran village of Shopian.
The incident comes soon after the Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists put out a video threatening to kill policemen unless they posted their resignations online.
The killings, it appears, had the desired effect as the episode led to six policemen announcing their resignation with four of them posting videos confirming it.
“We have lost 3 of our brave colleagues in a barbaric terror strike. Our tribute to the 3 martyred Jawans – Nisar Ahmad, Firdous Kuchay & Kulwant Singh. We condemn this inhuman act and assure that all the culprits shall be dealt under law,” the Kashmir police tweeted.
The home ministry sees the killings as desperate fight-back because of the centre’s tough policy.>
