Two Hizbul Mujahideen terror Modules busted in J&K

Further investigation into this is in progress


Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday have busted two OGW modules of Hizbul Mujahideen in Lolab area of Kupwara district.

“Acting on a specific input, Kupwara Police busted an OGW module of HM, operating in Lolab area.

Two persons, namely Shakir Ahmad Wani s/ o Mohammed Ramzan Wani and Ghulam Mustafa Sheikh s/o Abdul Ahad Sheikh, both residents of Tekipora, Lolab were detained in this regard for questioning,” police spokesperson said.

“After sustained questioning, a pistol was recovered on their disclosure,” he said.

The spokesperson claimed that the module was engaged in providing logistics support to terrorists apart from luring more youth into this path.

“A case FIR no.77 of 2018 u/s 7/25 Arms act 13 UAPA stands registered in police station Sogam in this regard,” he said.

He added that further investigation into this is in progress.
