In yet another statement that could be taken as ongoing dissent in the ruling BJP, the Union minister Nitin Gadkari today said “leadership”
should own up to “defeat and failures” as well.
This statement interestingly comes days after BJP lost elections in three states.
The BJP leader said nobody is willing to own up to failure unlike success.
He was speaking at an event organised by the Pune District Urban Cooperative Banks Association Limited (PDUCBAL) in Pune.
The BJP ceded power to the Congress in the recently-concluded assembly elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
He said that while in politics, a defeat in any state or Lok Sabha elections makes the defeated candidates start cribbing and complain that they did not get adequate support.>
