Massive explosion and subsequent fire in central Mexico killed as many as 73 people
after hundreds swarmed to the site of an illegal fuel-line tap.
This is being linked to a government crackdown on fuel theft.
The death toll was confirmed by Hidalgo state governor Omar Fayad, who said that the toll had increased to 73 after the discovery of five additional bodies.
It is said that the blast occurred near Tlahuelilpan, close to Mexico City.
