After the complaint of inappropriate behaviour by a young woman, the management of the Shree Mangueshi temple said it has so far not come across any such clinching evidence to prove the allegation.
The allegation had been levelled by a Goan-origin medical student in the US.
In her complaint to the managing committee of Shree Manguesh Devasthan in South Goa’s Mangeshi village, the young woman said she visited the temple on June 22 with her parents.
It was then that the priest came to the locker area outside the sanctum and on the pretext of asking me to take ”pradakshina”, he beckoned me to come near and put his arm around my shoulders.
She added in her plaint that the priest then went ahead and proceeded to tightly hug me and attempted to kiss me.
The girl obviously did not like it.
The committee claimed to have looked into the complaint and then summoned the CCTV footage to find clinching evidence.
Shree Mangueshi temple, home to Lord Manguesh who is considered to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva, is one of the most visited temples in the state by tourists and locals alike.>
