Girls abused in a shelter home from capital area, know more

Yet another case of abuse of girls emerged from a shelter home in Dwarka area of national capital.

It is said that representatives of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) have registered a police complaint against the shelter home.

It is said that girls were punished for defiant behaviour by staffers.

The DCW said that girls aged between 6-15 years informed during an interaction that female staffers at the shelter home put chilli powder in their private parts as punishment.

It also emerged that the girls were also forced to consume chilli powder by the staffers.

Members of the commission also asserted that the shelter home in question has only one cook for 22 girls and staff members, adding that the food being served to the residents was “not good”.
