Maxwell Reveals his Partner Vini Raman was the first Person to Notice his issue

Glenn Maxwell is one of the most exciting players in the world. His power-hitting capabilities and capable spin bowling caught the attention of everyone on the cricket field. He has been amazing for the Kangaroos in all formats.

Maxwell was recently in limelight for taking a break from cricket in order to deal with his mental health. This problem has been plaguing the Australian cricket.

Lately with players like Will Pucovski, Nic Maddinson among others taking a break from the game to get their mind in order after years of playing cricket day in and day out.

Maxwell opened up about his struggles with mental health and explained how it was his partner Vini Raman that first noticed his mental burn out.

He decided to step away from the game during Australia’s Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka in October,returning to club cricket recently.He conceded that he was mentally fried after playing cricket for so many years.

“I’ve been getting back into the swing of things for a while.I think I was pretty cooked.I decided to take some time off and a big reason as to why I took that time away was because I was mentally and physically ruined from I think it was eight months on the road and living out of a suitcase,” Maxwell was quoted as saying by India Today.

“It just all caught up with me at that time and I really want to thank Cricket Australia,Cricket Victoria and the Melbourne Stars for giving me that space and having that time away from the game.

It was actually my partner who suggested I speak to someone,she was the first person who noticed it.Once I had that initial conversation it was a huge weight off my shoulders,” he added.

Glenn Maxwell has returned to club cricket for Victoria and has put his name in the upcoming IPL 2020 auction with the base price at the highest of INR 2 crore. He will also lead the Melbourne Stars in the upcoming BBL season.

Glenn Maxwell, who entered the IPL 2020 auctions for a base price of INR 2 Cr,was bagged by the Kings XI Punjab for a massive INR 10.75 Cr.

After an intense bidding between Delhi Capitals and Punjab,finally the all-rounder was bagged by the latter for an astounding amount.
