Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel while addressing the first convocation ceremony of Ravindra Nath Tagore Vishwavidyalaya has said that a grand mela like Kumbh is possible in India only.
Population equal to Europe comes with trust and faith daily here to take a dip in Ganga and to experience self contentment. The event is organized here without any accident.
It is must for all to understand how arrangements for cleanliness, security and devotees are made here. Therefore, universities must encourage students to conduct research on this grand religious event so that this grand programme should reach people in a form of book.
The Governor Smt. Patel further said that Ravindra Nath Tagore was such a great personality, whose literature reached across the country and abroad because of his talent and capabilities.
Due to the translation of his work Geetanjali in English and other languages, he gained popularity in the field of literature and became famous by the name Gurudev.
The National Anthem of India ‘Jana-Gana-Mana’ and the National Anthem of Bangladesh :Amar Sonar Bangla’ is a symbol of his literary talent and love towards the country.
The Governor paid floral tribute to Gurudev Ravindra Nath Tagore before his statue installed at the campus of the university. She presented honorary degree to the Ambassador of Myanmar Shri Mo Cho Ang and honorary D.Lit to the artiste Sushri Usha Ganguly of the West Bangal.
The Governor also presented degrees to the students and released a souvenir of the university on the occasion.
