Govt appoints Krishnamurthy Subramanian as chief economic advisor

In a major appointment, the central government appointed Krishnamurthy Subramanian as chief economic advisor.

This was confirmed through an official release.

The appointment is said to be for a period of three years, as per sources.

A professor from the Indian School of Business, Krishnamurthy fills the role vacated by Arvind Subramanian.

The former CEA Subramanian had quit the finance ministry in June this year.
