Govt institutes probe to look into cash crunch; under PMO

With cash crunch pestering the government, it has been decided that a multi agency task force would probe the reasons behind what could have triggered it in the first place.

The task force would work under the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The cash crunch in ATMs across the country had been making news and causing massive problems to the people who could not go about their daily lives.

It is said that the task force has been asked to submit its report in the next 15 days.

It need be mentioned that crucial elections in different states and there after national elections are scheduled early next year and such crisis scenarios do impact the government’s electoral prospects.

There is also the feeling that the currency shortage could have been artificially created to mislead the nation.

The report suggests the banks have been asked to submit report any suspicious transaction and activity to the FIU at the earliest.
