With Chhattisgarh due for election later this year, the Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan is being organized till August 15 across the villages with population over a thousand in ten aspirational districts of Chhattisgarh.
The total number of villages under the purview thus comes to 1870.
The aim is to emphasize on implementation of seven of the major and ambitious programs of the central government in these districts.
The list of schemes or programs includes Mission Indradhanush, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Beema Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Beema Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana among others.
The implementation were reviewed in a meeting chaired today by the Chief Secretary Ajay Singh.
The villages are also under focus for amenities related to education, agriculture, health and nutrition, skill development in the youth and school education.
The list of aspirational districts of Chhattisgarh includes Bastar, Bijapur, Narainpur, Rajnandgaon, Sukma and Kanker.
The meeting held today included participation from Additional Chief Secretary Sunil Kujur, Additional Chief Secretary RP Mandal, Principal Secretary Amitabh Jain, School Education Secretary Gaurav Dwivedi among others.>
