Harshita Tomar becomes youngest Asian Games Medal Winner

Sports Minister Smt. Scindia congratulates

16-year old Harshita Tomar of Hoshangabad district has become the first youngest player of Madhya Pradesh to have claimed the Asian Games medal.

Harshita has won bronze medal in the Asian Games Sailing (Laser 4.7) competition going on at Jakarta.

Expressing happiness at Harshita’s achievement, Sports Minister Smt. Yashodhara Raje Scindia said that Madhya Pradesh Sailing Academy player Harshita Tomar has bagged the first individual medal leaving men behind in the Asian Games.

Smt. Scindia said this is just the beginning; the future of sports and players is in the hands of expert trainers in Madhya Pradesh.

Players are giving their best performance through international level sports facilities.

It may be noted that Harshita Tomar has won 3 gold medals and one bronze medal at the international level in the last 3 years.
