Haryana police nabs three after two Kashmiri students were thrashed
After reports surfaced that over a dozen people were involved in beating up of two Kashmiri students, the Haryana police has gone ahead and arrested at least three such accused and has identified another three.
The incident happened last evening in Haryana’s Mahendragarh, about 100 km from Delhi.
It is said that over a dozen people encircled the two students of the Central University of Haryana and attacked them with sticks, bricks and helmets as they were in the local market after their Friday prayers.
The thrashed students have been identified as Aftab Ahmad and Amjad.
They allege that they were beaten up for no reason at all.
The police, however, claimed that a verbal duel took place between the students and locals after their motorcycles were involved in a minor accident. It was the locals who summoned more help to allegedly beat them up.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, meanwhile, urged Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar to ensure strict action.>
