After he formally made an entry into the BJP, Odisha based Baijayant Jay Panda was appointed as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP’s) spokesperson and vice president.
It need be mentioned that he had earlier quit Biju Janata Dal and also resigned from Lok Sabha membership as well.
BJP president Amit Shah’s decision to give the Odisha leader an important position within the party, within a short span signifies the importance the party gives him.
Panda is a owner of a media group in Odisha.
Panda joined the BJP last week.
With just a couple of months to go before the general elections, the state of Odisha, with 21 Lok Sabha seats is crucial to the BJP which managed to bag only one seat in the 2014 general elections.
