Heres what Karni Sena leader had to say on Padmavat release and SC verdict
Despite the Supreme Court making it clear that the film Padmavat will be released across the country and that the states need to address the law and order issue if any such arises, Shri Rajput Karni Sena on Tuesday said it was disheartened with the verdict.
The outfit’s Chittorgarh unit chief Lokendra Singh Kalvi said that even though the Supreme Court has dismissed pleas to ban the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavat, more than 1900 women have signed up for “jauhar” (self immolation) as protest.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed the plea of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh governments seeking a ban on the film.
Kalvi went on to claim that it is disheartening to know that the Supreme Court hasn’t respected the public sentiments.
He added that he wanted that the other six historians also view the movie which has so far been shown to only three of them.>
