Heres what Supreme Court said in the Hadiya ‘love jihad’ case

The alleged love jihad case of Kerala, the Supreme Court said that her marital status cannot be probed.

It need be mentioned that Hadiya is said to be an alleged love jihad case where the girl from Hindu community converted to Muslim faith and married a Muslim man named Shafin Jahan.

The marriage had been annulled by the high court last year but the case was eventually referred to Supreme Court.

It need be mentioned that in November itself, the Supreme Court freed Hadiya from her parents who had insisted that she had been brainwashed and forced to convert.

The court then also allowed her to resume her studies at a college in Tamil Nadu where she was studying before she married Shafin Jahan.
