Amid the ongoing #MeToo movement, more than two dozen of the women home guards have now come up suggesting that senior officials have been harassing them.
It is said that so far 25 women home guards in Gujarat’s Surat have leveled the accusations against two senior officials.
Local reports said that the women approached city police commissioner Satish Sharma on Friday with a written complaint.
Sources have said that the complaint named two senior home guard officials.
It is alleged that the women were subjected to mental, physical, sexual, emotional and financial harassment.
It is said that the matter has also been brought to the notice of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.
Police have maintained that the local complaints committee has started inquiry into the allegations.>
