Fifth-Generation Honda CR-V was launched in India just a year ago back in 2018 prices for the model had increased significantly over its predecessor due to the added kit, new diesel engine option and other changes.
CR-V was already available at a discount of around Rs 4 lakh last month. Honda dealers are offering the flagship SUV with even higher cash discounts of up to Rs 5 lakh, depending on the variant.
Discount is applicable only on the diesel-powered variants of the CR-V for models produced in 2018 and 2019.The standard 1.6 diesel-automatic can be had with discounts of Rs 4 lakh, while the top-spec diesel-automatic is being offered with a Rs 5 lakh cash discount.
The discounted prices have made the CR-V much more affordable than earlier, which means its prices overlap with SUVs a segment lower like the Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson. Currently, the Compass range is priced from Rs 15.50 lakh to Rs 27.60 lakh but, Jeep dealers are offering discounts of up to Rs 1.75 lakh on the SUV. Hyundai’s Tucson too, which is priced from Rs 20.80 lakh to Rs 26.97 lakh, is available with discounts up to Rs 2.05 lakh.
