Honeypreet remains elusive; police carries out searches in Delhi without success

Hunt continues for Honeypreet Insan, the adopted daughter of rape convict Gurmeet Ram Rahim, as police carried out raids in different locations across national capital Delhi. Police is also looking for Aditya Insan, one of the close aide Dera chief.  Police sources said here that the raids were being conducted in Delhi and nearby areas of the National Capital Region (NCR). It was said that searches were carried out in Greater Kailash-II in south Delhi.

Police were baffled by reports that absconding Honeypreet Insan was in New Delhi as recently as Monday when she visited her lawyer at his Lajpat Nagar officer ahead of her bail plea hearing at the Delhi High Court. Cops raided a location in New Delhi in order to arrest her but failed to find her at the property. Meanwhile, Honeypreet on Monday moved the Delhi High Court seeking protection from arrest. Honeypreet’s application is likely to be taken by the court. Ever since August 25, when Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was convicted of rape, Honeypreet has proved to be elusive for Haryana Police, which earlier issued a lookout notice against her. There were reports that she was sighted at various places in Rajasthan and even Nepal.
