Mother of a rape victim in Madhya Pradesh’s capital Bhopal said on Sunday that she wants the culprits of her daughter to be punished in the same manner was done in the Hyderabad rape and murder case.
The 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped and killed in April this year. Her head was crushed with a stone. “Even after eight months of the incident, my daughter has not been given justice,” the mother said.
Three days after the four accused in the Hyderabad rape and murder case were shot dead by the Telangana Police in an “encounter”, the wailing mother asked for a similar treatment for the perpetrators of her daughter.
The victim’s mother said that she is happy with the “encounter” in Hyderabad but sad that her own daughter has not been given justice even after eight months even as the case has not been tried in the fast-track court yet.
“I too want such justice for my daughter as was done in the case of Hyderabad,” she said.
The victim’s mother said, ‘We have gone door to door for justice. The administration made big promises on the day the incident happened, but eight months have passed now and even the DNA report has not come yet. At the same time, it is only three times in these eight months that we were called for testimony in the court and the justice is still awaited.”
Madhya Pradesh former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that he will sit on a ‘dharna’ with the victim’s family on Monday. “Eight months ago, a 12-year-old daughter was raped and brutally murdered by stones at Manukabhan in Bhopal. Her mother has been wandering to get justice since then. The DNA report of the culprits has not come yet. How and when will the justice be done, we have no clue,” he said.
