Khans or Bachchans will not attend the IIFA awards 2018 in Bangkok, the latest update might upset the organisers more. Padmaavat actor, Shahid Kapoor, who was supposed to perform at the awards gala this year has backed out of the event and the reason is pretty genuine.
Shahid has sustained a back injury during the shoot of Batti Gul Meter Chalu and that’s preventing him from rehearsing his act further.
As per reports in Mid-Day, Shahid suffered a major back injury while shooting in Tehri last week yet he continued filming. The actor and his crew want to wrap up the movie by June-end, hence there was no way for Sasha to rest.
And to make it worse, the star started practicing for his gig at IIFA this year as soon as he returned from the movie schedule. “It was while attempting a tricky step that he suffered a back spasm and was advised against any strenuous activity by the doctor. Although Shahid was scheduled to fly out to Thailand last night, he called off the plan. The IIFA organizers were fairly understanding about it,” a source close to the actor said.
However, the organisers can still heave a sigh of relief as Bobby Deol has stepped in to perform after Shahid’s exit. Yes, the Race 3 actor will set the stage on fire at IIFA 2018.
The actor will return to stage after seven long years and we bet all the wait will be worth it. A source close to Bobby revealed “His IIFA act is going to be about his journey in Bollywood. Bobby’s act start from his popular songs from the 90’s like ‘Humko Tumse Pyaar Hai’ and to his recent hits like ‘Selfish’ and ‘Party Chale On’ from Race 3” Bobby has left no stone unturned for his grand performance at IIFA this year. The actor has been rehearsing for long hours to make his performance a huge success.>
