Acting tough on the reported ragging cases, the IIT Kanpur administration has suspended altogether 22 students. Based on report of Students Affairs Committee (SAC), the Senate committee took the statements of these accused students. A decision was subsequently made where in 16 students were suspended for three years duration while another six were suspended for period of a year. It was also informed that these students would have to register in the same semester and continue with their studies after suspension period was over.
