Hearing and Speech Impaired newly-weds get hiked amount under CM Kanya Vivah Yojana

The implementation of the announcement of increase in the amount of Kanya Vivah-Nikah Scheme from Rs 28 thousand to Rs 51 thousand rupees has been started by Chief Minister Kamal Nath.

The first case of revision in the scheme came up today in Dhar district, when the Collector Shri Deepak Singh presented a check of Rs 51 thousand to hearing and speech impaired newly-wed couple under the Mukhya Mantri Kanyadan Yojana.

The newly-wed couple were presented an amount of Rs one lakh under the Mukhya Mantri Nishakt Vivah Yojana.

In the case, the bride belongs to the Scheduled Tribe and the groom is from the Rajput Samaj (General Category).

Shri Kamal Nath had decided hike the Kanya Vivah Yojana amount from Rs 28 thousand to Rs 51 thousand soon after taking over as the Chief Minister.

District Collector Shri Deepak Singh presented a cheque of Rs. one lakh under Mukhya Mantri Nishakt Vivah Yojana and Rs. 51 thousand to Shri Suresh Sisodia and Sushri Lakshmi Singar of Tirla Janpad Panchayat at a ceremony organised at the Arya Samaj Mandir under Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah and Mukhya Mantri Nishakt Vivah Yojana.

The bride was given Rs 43 thousand cash and goods worth Rs 5 thousand from the Mukhya Mantri Kanyadan Yojana besides Rs 3 thousand for organising the event. A utensil set was also given to the newly-weds by Dhar-Jhabua Gramin Kshetriya Bank.

After Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath’s decision to hike the Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah and Mukhya Mantri Nikah Yojana amount to Rs. 51 thousand, provision has been made to provide Rs. 3 thousand per ‘Kanya’ to the authorized bodies for organizing the mass marriage programme, Rs 5 thousand for purchasing goods and getting the remaining amount of Rs 43 thousand deposited in the savings bank account of the ‘Kanya’.


A provision has been made of giving Kanya Vivah assistance fund in the mass or single marriages in the marriages prevailing among tribals in adivasi regions.


On the initiative of the Chief Minister, the restriction of income limit to receive the benefits of the Kanya Vivah/ Nikah assistance amount in the mass marriage programme has also been abolished.
