On the much contested Gauri Lankesh murder issue, the Special investigation team (SIT) has now named the Hindu right wing outfit Sanatan Sanstha.

The SIT probing the killing of journalist-activist Gauri Lankesh filed additional chargesheet in this regard.

The SIT submitted the 9,235-page chargesheet in the Principal Civil and Sessions court.

As per the chargesheet, a network within Sanatan Sanstha targeted Lankesh.

It emerged in the SIT probe that planning to kill Lankesh was ongoing for almost five years.

The SIT has also sought permission to investigate the case further. The first chargesheet in the sensational case was filed in May last.

It need be recalled that Gauri Lankesh, 55, known for her left-leaning and strong anti-Hindutva views was shot dead in front of her house here on September 5 last year.

The murder became a political flashpoint and it also triggered a nationwide outrage.
