In poll bound Karnataka, Lord Hanuman idol stopped near Hoskote

massive idol said to be 62-foot, 750-tonne half-done 'Hanuman' was forced to wait near Hoskote

A statue of Lord Hanuman, even though a gigantic one, was on its way from Kolar to Kacharakanahalli in East Bengaluru when the police stopped it terming it to be a potential poll code violation.

The statue, it is said, remained stuck at the site for more than 12 hours.

The massive idol said to be 62-foot, 750-tonne half-done ‘Hanuman’ was forced to wait near Hoskote.

However, the police decision resulted in a traffic jam lasting hours on old Madras road.

It was later also claimed by the trust members that they had requisite permissions to transport the idol only if they wouldn’t damage the road.

Trust members claimed the statue, which stands taller than the Gomateshwara statue (57ft) of Shravanabelagola in Hassan district, will be the biggest Hanuman statue in the world.
