In the ongoing poll season, it appears that Hinduism is up for grabs and almost all sides are keen to show themselves as devout Hindu.

After facing criticism over his newly revealed “gotra” as well as recent temple visits in poll-bound states, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi slammed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and went on to question his “knowledge of Hinduism”.

He goes on to mention scriptures such as Gita to point out that ‘knowledge is with everybody and that knowledge is all around you.’

Rahul Gandhi was addressing a rally in Rajasthan.

He is a “Dattatreya” and a Kashmiri Brahmin, said a priest, who claimed to have old records of the Nehru-Gandhi family tree.

It need be mentioned that “Gotra” refers to a clan or descendants from a common ancestor.

Rahul Gandhi also hit out at PM Modi comparing his style of governance with that of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

But (Narendra) Modi ji actually reached into the Army’s domain and turned their surgical strike into a political asset when it was actually a military decision, Rahul Gandhi said.
