Income Tax provisionally attaches Shah Rukh’s bungalow; whats known so far
The Income Tax department has provisionally attached the Alibaug farmhouse of the cine star and Bollywood heartthrob Shah Rukh Khan.
The action was initiated under the new Benami Transactions (Prohibition) Amended Act, 2016.
It need be mentioned that the department had issued an attachment notice under the Prohibition of Benami Property Transaction act in the month of December itself.
Sources said that Shah Rukh Khan had reportedly given an application for the purchase of the land for farming and agricultural purpose.
The I-T department has alleged that Deja Vu Farms had taken unsecured loans of Rs 8.4 crore from Khan for the purchase of land in Alibaug.
The tax authority has also claimed that Deja Vu Farms has acted as “benamidar” for Khan.
Following the allegation, a complaint was filed against the actor in a Mumbai police station stating that he violated the Maharashtra Tenancy and Agricultural Lands Act that bars transfer of agricultural land to non-agriculturists without the permission of the collector or state government. >
