India displayed very many ‘own’ defence equipments; put them on R-Day parade
Even as India used to be criticized earlier for showcasing only imported or locally assembled weapons and posing them as own military might, the 69th Republic Day parade concluded with display of host of weapons systems that are Made In India.
With the 10 ASEAN heads of states as Chief Guest for this Republic Day, it is all the more crucial that India displays its indigenously-built sophisticated defence equipment.
The indigenous defence fleet during the parade included aircrafts, helicopters, tanks, and missiles, and other Indian defence sector feats.
Some of the most potent weapon systems that were displayed included Rudra Helicopter, Dhruv Helicopter, Netra (Airborne Early Warning and Control System), Tejas Light Combat Aircraft, BrahMos missile, Swathi Weapon Locating Radar, Bridge Layer Tank T-72, Akash missile system, and Nirbhay Missile system.
It need be mentioned that this was the first time when a Rudra helicopter of Army Aviation was a part of the flypast at the parade. >
