India joins in elite list of nations to have sub-launched missile

The achievement is all the more crucial in that the development ensure that India now has a functional nuke triad.

In yet another major achievement for the India’s defence posture, the country has now BO5, a fully-operational submarine-launched missile that could be fitted with a nuclear warhead.

So far only the USA, Russia, China and France have had such technology and India joins in this elite club of nations.

The achievement is all the more crucial in that the development ensure that India now has a functional nuke triad.

Moreover, India is also working to developing a missile of similar capability which can be launched from land and will have an impact radius of 600 kilometres.

It is said that the numerous critical technology were proved in the successful trials which paved the way for developing other long-range submarine-launched Strategic Missiles.

The missile has the potential to launched from Submarine, Ship and Land.
