India in all likelihood is to attend the anti-terrorism meeting under the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The meeting is to be held in Pakistan.

It is said that the three-day conference is also to be attended by member countries including China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, India, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan.

The meeting, namely SCO-Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure Legal Experts (RATS), is the first Pakistan is hosting.

It need be mentioned that both India and Pakistan became full member of the organization nearly a year ago.

During the moot, the legal experts will discuss terrorist threats being faced by the region and ways and means to enhance counter-terrorism cooperation between SCO member states.

India’s presence at the meeting assumes significance since it had boycotted the South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summit in Islamabad in 2016.

India had cited the Pakistan’s continued support to cross-border terrorism as reason behind the non-attendance.
