Amid rising concerns in India that neighboring Nepal might be increasingly under the influence of China, the Nepalese premiere made the visit to India and met country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The two leaders held wide ranging talks and also resolved to step up two-way engagement in key areas of defence and security, connectivity, trade and agriculture.
Modi on his part assured that India will always stand by Nepal for an all round growth.
It need be recalled that Nepal Prime Minister KP Oli is seen as inclined towards China but said in Delhi about the need to forge trust-based relationship between India and Nepal.
Modi also hailed successful conduct of national and provincial polls in Nepal and complimented its people for reposing their faith in the democracy.
Both sides agreed to expedite all connectivity projects.
Modi also said the two countries agreed on laying a new railway line to link Kathmandu with India.>
