Indian MEA serves passport revocation notice to Nirav Modi; on his email
In yet more difficulty for the absconding businessman Nirav Modi, the ministry of external affairs (MEA) on Thursday said that it had sent Nirav Modi an intimation about the revocation of his passport.
The intimation has been provided in the email id provided by the billionaire himself.
The notice was also sent to a physical address in India.
The MEA added that though there had been some confusion about the mailing address, the diamond trader had acknowledged the receipt of the intimation.
MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said that his ministry was not involved in locating offenders.
The MEA had on February 16 suspended the validity of the passports of Nirav Modi and his uncle Choksi.
The duo are among the prime-accused in the Rs 11,300-crore Punjab National Bank fraud case.
They have been given a week to present their side against the revocation of their passports. >
