In a crime that has been reported, a man in his thirties and of Indian origin has been jailed for three weeks on charges of molestation.

It has emerged that the man based in Australia has been jailed in Singapore for molesting a cabin crew member as he was on board a Singapore-bound flight.

The man has been identified as Paranjape Niranjan Jayant.

It is known that he works for a logistics firm and went right ahead to plead guilty to two charges of molestation of the 25-year-old flight attendant.

He also said he was remorseful and pleaded for leniency.

For each count of molestation, he could have been jailed for up to two years and fined or caned.
