India’s startups welcome TRAIs stance of net neutrality; heres what they said
India’s digital and startup companies have welcomed the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI)’s recommendations in support of net neutrality.
The companies have termed the recommendations as “progressive” and one that will prevent “stonewalling of emerging services” by established players.
Internet and privacy experts have also applauded the recommendations, but sought more details on their adoption from the department of telecom (DoT) and its enforcement mechanism.
After two years of deliberations, TRAI has recommended to DoT to amend licence agreements to prevent any kind of discrimination on internet services based on content, apps or any other service or data that travels on the internet. >
