IndiGo ground staff goes on strike in Varanasi

airport authorities meanwhile are making efforts to break the deadlock

Demanding hike in salary and also other facilities, the IndiGo airlines ground staffers in Varanasi airport went on strike on Wednesday.

The staffers staged a dharna outside the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, Varanasi.

The airport authorities did acknowledge having some difficulty as the strike was announced without prior notice, they claimed to have managed the situation.

The airport authorities meanwhile are making efforts to break the deadlock and bring the staffers to work.

The IndiGo airline operates flights for Hyderabad, Patna, Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai, and Mumbai.

Now a total of 54 ground staff including porters, loaders and drivers went on strike in support of their demands including salary enhancement, stop of break shift, opening of PF account, ESI cards to staff, timely payment of salary, and over time after 8-hour regular work.
