Vice-Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Agriculture University Mr. SK Patil today paid courtesy call on Governor Mr. Balramji Das Tandon at Rajbhavan.
He informed Governor Mr. Tandon that Indian Institute of Agricultural Research has given 12th rank to Indira Gandhi Agriculture University among the best agricultural institutes in the country, which is a remarkable achievement.
In the previous year, University’s rank was 17th. Governor Mr. Tandon has extended congratulations for the achievement and wished that the University continues to explore new heights of success in future as well.
Mr. Patil informed that Union Ministry of Science and Technology has sanctioned Rs 44 crore for establishing Bio-technology Park in the university premise.
This project will be developed in two phases in next five years. Biotech centre will be established in the university campus and land for Business Enterprise Zone has been allotted in village Mungi of Raipur district.
He informed that this will be the second biotechnology park of the country. First one is in Bengaluru.>
