International Yoga Day, Raj Bhawan & Tourism department hold camps

In his message, Governor appealed people to practice yoga regularly. He said that yoga is India's ancient way of life, which is mentioned in our Veda-Upnishad

On the occasion of International Yoga Day today, a yoga camp was organized in the morning at Rajbhavan.

On the occasion, Secretary to Governor Mr. Surendra Kumar Jaiswal recited Governor Mr. Balramji Das Tandon’s message on Yoga.

In his message, Governor appealed people to practice yoga regularly. He said that yoga is India’s ancient way of life, which is mentioned in our Veda-Upnishad.

He said that Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has made the world aware of the importance of Yoga. His efforts have resulted in UNO declaring June 21 of every year to be observed as International Yoga Day.

On the occasion, Deputy Secretary of Governor Mrs. Roktima Yadav, Legal Advisor of Governor Mr. NK Chandravanshi and officials-employees of Rajbhavan Secretariat were also present.

In the camp, Instructor of Chhattisgarh Yog Ayog Mr. AK Sahu and his students gave information about various yoga asanas and pranayaams.

Mass Yoga Demonstration programme was organized under the joint aegis of Government of India’s Tourism Ministy and Chhattisgarh Tourism Board on June 21 from 7pm and 8pm.

On the occasion, International Badminton Player Kavita Dixit, Yoga Guru of Arogya Mandir Vivek Bharati, Members of Arogya Mandir, General Manager of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Mr. Sanjay Singh, Senior Officer of India Tourism Mumbai Shobha Shashikumar, Assistant Director India Tourism Mumbai Mr. Aalam, Deputy General Manager Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Mr. SS Pathak and other officials, employees, prominent citizens, members of Nehru Yuva Kendra and school students were present. Total 350 people attended the programme.
