In IPL Cricket, Delhi Capitals beat Chennai Super Kings by 44 runs in Dubai last night to register their second consecutive win in the ongoing tournament.
Sent into bat first, Delhi posted 175 for three in stipulated 20 overs riding on a brilliant half-century by Prithvi Shaw who made 64 runs off 43 balls. Shikhar Dhawan with 35 runs off 27 balls and Rishabh Pant not out with 37 runs off 25 balls also made valuable contribution for Delhi. Piyush Chawla with two for 33 and Sam Curran one for 27 were the wicket takers for Chennai.
In reply, Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings could manage just 131 for seven in 20 overs. Faf du Plessis was top-scorer for Chennai, with 43 runs off 35 balls. Delhi bowlers Kagiso Rabada scalped three wickets and Anrich Nortje got two wickets while Axar Patel took one wicket.
Earlier, Chennai won the toss and elected to field. This is Chennai’s second straight loss in the ongoing IPL.
Today, Kolkata Knight Riders will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in Abu Dhabi.
