Iran struck by yet another earthquake; no casualties reported though

It is said that a moderately strong 5.9-magnitude earthquake hit Iran's southern region

Earthquake prone Iran was struck again on Thursday.

It is said that a moderately strong 5.9-magnitude earthquake hit Iran’s southern region of Bushehr.

Interestingly, this region also hosts the country’s only nuclear power plant.

However, reports coming in so far reveal that no casualties or damage had been reported so far.

The University of Tehran’s seismology centre said the epicentre of the earthquake that hit at 0634 GMT was in the sparsely populated Kaki region, which is around 80 kms from the Bushehr plant.

Bushehr has a 1,000 megawatt reactor built by Russia that became operational in 2011.
