Iranian passenger plane crashes; 50 people on board; fate unknown as yet
In yet another unfortunate incident, an Iranian passenger plane is reported to have crashed into the country’s Zagros mountains.
The plane was carrying more than 50 people on board.
This was also confirmed by the head of the Iranian emergency services.
It was also mentioned that this plane has crashed in the Semirom area and all emergency forces are on alert.
The plane was reportedly travelling from Tehran to the small town of Yasuj in Isfahan province.
It need be mentioned that Semirom lies in the mountainous southwestern region of Iran, around 480 kilometres south of the capital.
The local population also have confirmed that they have witnessed what appears to be a plane crash.
The search and rescue efforts have been initiated.
