ISRO loses contact with GSAT-6A; efforts on re-establish link

While ISRO says it is trying re-establish link, sources attributed the failure to a power system failure

It could be yet another setback for the country’s space program as the Indian Space Research Organization has confirmed losing contact with the latest satellite GSAT-6A.

The satellite had been launched mere 48 hours ago and was expected to be a strategic asset for the armed forces of the country.

While ISRO says it is trying re-establish link, sources attributed the failure to a power system failure.

It need be mentioned that the country celebrated the textbook launch onboard GSLV-F08 on Thursday itself.

It is said that the agency received data from the satellite for about four minutes after the second orbit raising operation after which the it went blank.

Meanwhile efforts are underway to establish the link with the satellite.
