In a scary incident, the YSR Congress party leader Jaganmohan Reddy got attacked at Vizag airport.

The chief of the YSR Congress party was attacked on Thursday.

It was said that a man, working at the Vizag airport, stabbed Reddy on his left arm.

It is said that the attack came about with a sharp object.

Sources said that the attack came as he was coming out of a lounge at the airport.

Reddy, the leader of the opposition in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, was reported to be fine and was taken to a nearby hospital for the wound he received in the attack.

The attacker has been identified as Srinivas and somehow managed to come close to the YSRCP chief on the pretext of taking a selfie with him.

Police have detained the man.

Andhra Pradesh Home Minister NC Rajappa said an inquiry was underway to ascertain what triggered the attack.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Srinivas works at a canteen run by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Harsha Vardhan.

In view of the revelation, the YSRCP has alleged a TDP conspiracy behind the attack.

Meanwhile, Asaduddin Owaisi, the Hyderabad MP and chief of the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen Party (AIMIM), has strongly condemned the attack.
