Jat agitation disrupts rail & road traffic in eastern Rajasthan

In Rajasthan, the ongoing agitation by the Jat community demanding OBC reservation benefits to the community residing in Dholpur and Bharatpur districts has disrupted the rail and road traffic in the eastern parts of the state.

Northern Western Railway cancelled two trains and diverted two others on Friday. Meanwhile Bharatpur district administration has imposed restrictions under Section 144 to maintain law and order in the entire district which will continue till the end of this month.

State Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Arun Chaturvedi said that government is positive about providing reservation to Jats residing in Bharatpur and Dholpur and urged the community members to call off the protest.

He said that the government will consider the recommendations of the OBC Commission which submitted its report to chief minister Vasundhara Raje on Thursday.
